“We already love it and never want to leave,” said George Hawn, who visited this year’s “Hi, Neighbor!” after being here only six weeks. We heard similar comments from other newcomers who found the event to be extremely helpful as they begin familiarizing themselves with SCC.

Janet Ditmore, Hospitality Chairman, who organizes the yearly event, said, “We had a capable and tireless group of volunteers. The changes we made this year to open more space and to organize the table placements by grouping similar activities seemed to help the flow of traffic. Even with more participants and more attendees, there was better access for interaction between the exhibitors and the attendees. Thanks to the 95 groups who participated.”

Janet sends special kudos to Claudia Henson of the CA staff and to Michael Chuto and his maintenance team at Community Hall who put in many hours of work and to Aston Gardens for providing cookies for the visitors—estimated at over 800.

Diane and Kevin McPherson, who moved here from Michigan in September, got some useful information about the Fitness Center from Jim Blackstone. He was a contractor in Michigan, and they hope to start a home improvement and home watch business here.
